What is the traditional gift for a first year wedding anniversary?

Tradition says the first anniversary is paper. For paper the first thing that comes to mind is money. Gift certificates for their favorite restaurant would be appreciated as well as gift cards for their favorite store. Why not ask them what they need? Tradition is nice but maybe they really need something practical.

If you are going by old fashioned traditional, the gift is paper. Though in modern times, the new first anniversary gift is clocks.

First wedding anniversaries are normally celebrated by paper. Why not put together an album of the couple's first year as a married couple and have it put into a photobook.

Paper. But that doesn't mean you should give your friends a piece of paper. Be creative, and give them something made of paper or printed on paper.
