The temporal artery is an artery (major blood vein supply), that is located in the temporal region of the brain. It is on or near each side of the head, up and back a little from the eyes. It's a very sensitive and vulnerable area on the head.

There are three temporal arteries on each side of the head: superficial, middle, and deep. They supply blood to the cerebral cortex.
