His mother (the exact identity is debated) gave birth to a baby (Pan) so ugly, that she cast it out. He had an appearance that even a mother couldn't love. He was half goat, much like the faun (another word for Pan) in "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe." He played the flute to charm or confuse people.

PAN is originated from GREEK LANGUAGE meaning to pasture. PAN is the god of the wild, shepherds and flocks, nature, of mountain wilds, hunting and rustic music. Greeks use to worship him in arcadia.
