Like a bull in a china shop is simply stating that an individual does not fit into a situation, or is out of place in his environment. An example could be a football player at a baby shower, or a ballerina at a basketball game. Any situation that is a displacement can be the meaning.

I think the saying you are looking for is "like a bull in a china shop". Which is a way of saying that someone or something is clumsy and/or awkward, and like a bull loose in a shop full of fragile china, is about to cause a disaster.
