I use peroxide and a quetip and gently clean their ears. I was told that I really couldn't hurt anything that way.

If you buy good ear-drops or an ear cleaner, it will tell you. The way my vet did it was to apply the ear-drops/cleaner to the cat, rub them in at the base of the ear, and then whipe with large cotton wool balls - never force anything inside.

Do not flush cat's ears in inside because it can cause a lot of problems. Flush only outside. But if cat's ears a not clean in inside then just clean ir with cotton-wool or other soft tool.

You shouldn't try this at home. A cat's ears are very sensitive and also key to a cat being able to hunt, etc. Only trained medical professionals, such as a veterinarian should be trusted to do this task. Be safe, not sorry.
