What is the right PH of a well?

+7

Answer by  Mitch79 (7)

The PH level of a well is 7.0 meaning it's neither alkaline or acidic. A reading above 7 is alkaline, one below 7 is acidic.

The pH of water in a well should be neurtal, meaning at a 7. If it is lower, it is too acidic, higher it is too basic.

The PH of a well that is to be used for drinking water should be as close as possible to neutral seven; it will not be perfect, but it certainly should not be six or lower as this acidic state could cause harm to those who plan to consume it.

There really is no one right pH for well water. The pH of well water should vary between regions and within regions by aquifer system. In this case the pH is going to be affected by benign salts and metal ions dissolved within the water. If you use a water processing system consult the manual for a pH value.
