Question by  SmaCk (20)

How do I determine the correct pH level for my aquarium?

My new pets are fish and I need to know about pH levels.

Purchase a PH test kit and ensure the levels stay between 6.5 and 7.0 which is considered the optimal PH level. Test at least once a month and try to maintain even levels.

first you have to buy aquarium water test kit from departmental store and check the pH levels. pH levels should be between 7. 6 and 8. 4 for basic tank.

Buy a pH test kit at the fish store the kits include the freshwater pH test. Also have PH charts that go inside the tank. Mine came with a diagram showing where the PH level should be based off the type of fish. Also neutralizer works great for me.

The pH level is dependent on the type of tank you have, but most pet stores carry kits to help you determine what your pH level is and where it should be.

pH is the acidity of the water that you are putting them into. A neutral pH level would be 7, and 7 would be the ideal pH for any fish; however some fish may like a lower or higher pH, but anything out of the range of 6 or 8 is bad for the fish.

If you go to the pet store and find the bottles of testing supplies the instructions will be with the Ph level strips. Most of the time they are color coded so that it is easier for you to read and analyze the results of your ph levels in your aquarium.

You need to get the test strips that the pet store should carry and know what levels are needed for your fish to put the correct chemicals in it.
