Concussion is a violent injury to an organ, esp to brain & followed by temporary or prolonged loss of function. It is not usually a life threatening injury, but it can cause short term & long term problems. Loud noises, such as that made by thunder or by something breaking violently into pieces, can frighten a person. Avoid both.
