While Ex-President Carter was out fishing, he was jumped by a wild rabbit called a Swamp Rabbit. Whereas these rabbits can be feral, this time the animal was merely curious and tried to enter the boat Carter was in. Carter 'fought' back with his oar and it was all caught on film!

Jimmy Carter was out in his boat when the media caught site of a swamp rabbit, nicknamed the "killer rabbit", furiously trying to board his boat. The rabbit who was anxiously trying to get on board caused Carter to flail at the animal with his oars. The incident was captured by a White House photographer.

President Jimmy Carter wasa fishing and a swimming rabbit attempted to board his fishing boat to attack him. He was able to deter the rabbit and it ended up swimming away. The press and media found out about this incident and it was heavily covered in the news. People were amazed at the rabbit's tenacity.

When Jimmy Carter met during the inaugural ceremony of the New Yorker harbor bridge on of his spokespersons, she was not available because she said her rabbit was sick. This was recorded on tape and from the one, this scene was jokingly used when Jimmy Carter was portrayed in the tabloid press.
