A "rambler" is called a "ranch home," depending on the part of the country where it is located. Ramblers are one level, usually built over a basement, with or without an attached garage. The footprint of a rambler is bigger since the square footage is contained in one level, as opposed to two.

Rambler is another name for ranch. They are usually simple, one-story homes, rectangular or L shaped. They are made from natural materials, such as wood or brick. These homes typically have efficient use of available space and emphasize openness.
