Dates have three forms. First is Month Date, Year; second is Day, Month Date, Year; third is Day the ordinal number, Month Year (Friday the 14th, March 2006).

In American English, the correct format is Month, Day, Year, like this: September Eleventh, Two-thousand one. In British English it is Day, Month, Year, like this: Eleventh September, Two-thousand one.
