the process is to call company with report they then send adjuster out to determine your unfortunate circumstance then you may have to call them an remind them of your auto these insurance people have alot to deal with be very polite when handling this an the process should be quick it also depends on the company.

First you have to report the incident to the insurance company and they will send an adjuster to find out the loss. Quickness of this process varies company to company. But be polite while dealing with them. The insurer will pay the loan amount to bank first and you will receive any remaining amount.

Your insurer will pay your bank the balance of the loan first. Any remaining amount will then be paid directly to you.
