You are placed under either a local or general anesthesia, a small incision is made below the adam's apple, tissue is separated, and cartilage is removed.

The adams apple can not be removed but can try to be hidden or made smaller. The process is called 'tracheal shave" what the doctor would do is change it from the manly 90 degree angle to the feminine 120 degree angle. If you have an adams apple that is on the larger side it can be hard to hide.

An Adam's Apple is not removed, it is surgically shaved or contoured in order to have a less prominent appearance. The process is called Chondrolaryngoplasty or commonly, tracheal shave. It is done via a small horizontal incision over the v-shaped ridge of the Adam's Apple. The cartilage is then exposed and carefully shaved with a surgical scalpel.
