The origin of soda pop came in 1798. It was coined because of the adding of carbonation to Mineral water. They started mass producing it in 1810. It didn't become until 1832 in the United States. Our most famous soda water companies today are Pepsi, Coca- Cola and Dr. Pepper.

One of the first techniques invented for making sparkling water involved combining bicarbonate of soda, water and an acid. Although bicarbonate of soda is no longer utilized in making sparkling water, the name has stuck ever since. The origin of "pop" is not as clear, but it's assumed to come from the sound produced when a carbonated drink is opened.
