Badminton, as we know it today, originated in India. Feathers were fastened to a cork. The bottles were used as the raquets. English soldiers stationed in India took the concept back to England around 1873.
Badminton was invented in the mid 18th Century in British India where it was created by British Military officers which when they retired they took back to England to create the official rules.
