It is a fighting game where two opponents stand across from each other and perform various fighting moves to reduce the others health to zero which afterwards the looser is in stagger mode and the winner can utilize complex button inputs to perform a fatality which ends in a very gruesome death for the looser.

It is another game in the epic fighting franchise started by Midway games. It continues the typical lore of the Mortal Kombat saga while incorportating some new characters into the mix.
