The legal drinking age in New York is 21 years old. It is the same everywhere in the United States. This is according to the National Drinking Age Act of 1984 which was passed by the Congress to regulate and enforce that very law.

The legal for drinking in the state of New York is twenty-one. This age requirement is for beer and wine as well as the harder stuff. In order for any state to get money for highways from the federal government the drinking age must be twenty-one in that state.
