What is the importance of technology?

Technology isn't what you think of when we say the word - technology is any mechanical advance we, as a species, make with the intent of improving some aspect of ourselves or our lives - from the sword, to the plow, to the clothes on your back, technology is what makes us. Without it, humanity wouldn't survive.

Double edged question. I think we are better off with it if we use it wisely and don't forget about what is most important in our lives; real relationships, friends, family and making the world a better place. It has its place in the modern world as long as it is not abused.
