What is the importance of higher education?

I need to write a paper on the importance in higher education today.

The world is smaller and technology is developing faster than we can keep up. Business and economy is constantly changing and shifting and creating new needs in the job market, all of which require education past high school. As recently as the 1950s, you could go places with a high school diploma. It's all different today.

Society will simply not progress if everyone has a low-wage job. Intellectuals are needed to maintain society, otherwise it will diminish and technology will take us over. Without higher education, who will make computers?

The greatest importance to higher education, is the doors it opens for you. We are now living in a world that is incredibly talented, and employers need to filter out potential employees. A higher education is one way they can pick out talented employees. A higher education also opens your eyes to new ideas.

Higher education level will grand better job opportunities and so is the salary for the job. It will also give many interesting subjects to discuss with friends.
