What is the history of the diesel engine?

Diesel engine was invented by a German scientist Rudolf Diesel in 1858.After that Car engine was invented in 1876 by German Nikolaus.It is also known as internal combustion engine.There is thermodynamic cycle which was developed by Rudolf Diesel in 1897.There are manufactured in two stroke and four stroke versions.They were also used in submarines and ships in 1910.

I believe that the diesel engine came out after they realized they can make an engine for bigger trucks and thing for more stock for different businesses like in the 1950
