The healthiest soup out there is the soup YOU make, because you know exactly whats in it and how much of each engredient. Nevermind all those soups that claim all natural ingredients, if you need to sound out an ingredient, its probibly not healthy.

Amy's Alphabet Soup (80 Calories, 0 Fat, 3g Protein, 2g Fiber, 580 Sodium) Honestly, I don't know if there's anything out there better than this. Although sodium is a little high, everything else seems fine for a once in awhile meal.

The progresso low sat options right now are the best. Calorie wise most soups are the same what you really want to avoid is all the extra salt in a can of soup.

Two issues to be concerned with: the fat content and salt content. Creamed soups tend to be high in fat (i. e. Cream of Mushroom, Cream of Celery). All soups tend to be salty. Look for a soup that is both low in fat and labelled as reduced/low sodium. The vegetable & bean content should be high, for fiber.

Search for a soup that has no MSG and that has low sodium. The thing that causes soups to be unhealthy is the salt content. A lot of the major soup brands have labels on them that say they are healthy but the best way to find out is by checking the label.

One of the best and healthiest soups on the market today would be Progresso Light Soup. It has at least 30 percent less calories than regular ready to serve soups. Progress Light has teamed up with Weight Watchers and carries the 'points' value of zero.
