The government is securing our human rights from otherwise anarchy, or a state of no government. Governments are necessary for many things, such as give us public goods and welfare.

The government is using the media to sway public opinion and promote jingoist/nationalist attitudes in citizens. A disinterested and apathetic public is called into action by the government when the government wants something specific done; example: declaring a war on terror after the 2001 attacks on the world trade center.
