What is the germination time of lawn seed?

I need to know how long it will take for my lawn seed to germinate.

The time can vary depending on the type of grass, amount of sun exposure, soil temp and actual seed planted. This can take anywhere from 7-30 plus days as long as the soil doesn't get to cold.

Grass seeds have different germination times. Ryegrass, the fastest with 3 to 5 days. Kentucky bluegrass, 2-3 weeks. Zoysiagrass seed is 10 days or more. Temperature also plays a role.

The germination time of lawn seed varies depending on the type of grass. The amount of rainfall, time of year, and temperature, also are factors. You can expect Ryegrass to take about 3-5 days and Kentucky Bluegrass can take 2-3 weeks. The rest generally fall somewhere in between. You will get the best if the lawn is prepared properly.

You need to water new grass seed daily to get it to come up, will then grow within 7-10 days.
