4-cylinder Volkswagen engines fire 1-3-4-2. 6-cylinder Volkswagen engines fire 1-4-3-6-2-5. In a 4-cylinder engine the "1" cylinder is on the passenger side. In a 6-cylinder engine the "1" cylinder is on the passenger side towards the front of the car.

It is hard to give the firing order of a Volkswagon when you have no idea which Volkswagon model you are referring to. My best advice for this issue would be to go to your local library. They usual carry books on different vehicles.

THe firing order depends on what engine you have. the 1.8 litter and 2.0 go 1342. the 2.8 litter 153626. i would check with a dealer for other engine sizes.
