The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act details the manner in which creditors can pursue means to collect a debt AND it spells out the rights of consumers. E. g. , a creditor/collection agent cannot threaten you, curse, etc. They can phone between 9 a. m. and 9 p. m. any day, but consumers can make a written request that calls stop. Read FDCPA online.
