About a decade after a worldwide catastrophe, Shinji Ikari is a 14-year-old student. He's been summoned to Tokyo 3 by his father to become a pilot for a mecha called an Evangelion. Along with fellow pilots Rei and Asuka, he battles angels that seem bent on humanity's destruction. The pilots also attend school together.
