Generally speaking. RAM (Random Access Memory) - Is "temporary memory" that a device would use while it is running and can be erased or changed, and is lost when the power is turned off. ROM (Read Only Memory) - Is memory that can not be changed or modified (easily).

These computer elements both deal with memory. RAM is random access memory, and ROM is read only memory. Random access is fast memory access, and is wiped clean every time the compupter is turned off. Read only access is slower, and is where all of your software is stored.

RAM is random access memory where the programs your using are stored so they can be accessed quickly while ROM is Read only memory and contains instructions on what your computer should do when it's turned on

Your processor holds programs that you are actively using in the RAM. Any file or program that is being accessed is stored in the RAM. When data or applications are not being queried they are stored in the ROM. RAM stands for Random Access Memory ROM stands for Read Only Memory
