Latino is a broader term, referring to anyone from Latin America, regardless of country. Mexicans are only of Mexican origin. Thus, while Mexicans are Latinos, many Latinos are not Mexican.

A Mexican is someone from Mexico. A Latino person could be from any of the Spanish-speaking Central or South American countries such as Mexico, El Salvador, or Nicaragua.
