Despite the fact, that quite often those two words are being used as a synonyms, they do have certain, though slight, differences in their meaning. In my point of view, word "health" commonly refers to physical aspects of a body, while "wellness" primarily emphasizes mental, emotional, and even spiritual conditions of one's mind.

Health generally refers to the over state of a person medically, whereas wellness refers to the whole person. That is, health is how you physically are, but wellness includes mental and spiritual state as well.

Health is basically the physical condition of the person. So if the person has nothing wrong with him or any disease of any sort, then we say the person has good health. But wellness is basically how good you think you feel or you can say I feel well. Essentially no difference for those who know.
