Well, it depends on your personal taste. Gas burns clean, with no real taste change in the meat. Coal, especially flavored, gives a smoky "down-home" taste to the food!

For a smoky authentic barbecue taste a charcoal grill is better. Just use hardwood charcoal, not briquettes. If you want quick cooking with little added taste go with gas.

The differnce is based on opinion and will vary. Conveince, speed, and price would fall in the Gas grill catergory in most opinions. I would say that the slower coal style of cooking benefits the taste and texture of the meat more. It depends on each persons opinion but I think all agree pushing a button is nice to have.

Gas barbecue grills use propane gas to cook the food while coal uses charcoal briquettes to cook the food. Which is best? Try them both- It's all personal choice!

Personally I only use charcoal grills. They add a smokey flavor to your food and they are the favorite of professional barbecuers everywhere. Just use hardwood charcoal and not briquettes.
