What is the difference between an Arab and a Muslim?

"Arab" refers to ethnicity -- semitic people from the Arabian peninsula and surrounding areas who speak Arabic. "Muslim" refers to religion -- a person who follows the Islam faith. Most Arabs are also Muslims, though there are also Christian Arabs and Druze Arabs.

Islam is a religion, dating back to the 7th Century. Its adherents are called Muslims. Arab is an ethnicity, a group of people who originally inhabited the Middle East and North Africa, and share culture. its the same of the difference between Christians and Causcasians. Most Caucasian nations have Christianity as a majority religion, but not all Caucasians are Christians.

Muslim refers to anyone who practices the religion of Islam. The word Arab refers to a person from certain middle eastern countries. You do not have to Arab to be Muslim or Muslim to be Arab, they are not mutually exclusive.
