What is the difference between a Mac and a PC computer?

A Mac runs an operating system created by Apple. While a Mac is also a personal computer (PC), the term PC has evolved to mean a computer that runs a non-Apple operating system. This operating system is generally Windows, though some users choose to install other operating systems on their computers.

Graphic designers, video editors, animators, etc prefer Macs due to their power and color-accurate monitors. PC can be used for creative work (I know many 3D artists who prefer PC), but is suitable for business-y work. Besides this, they are pretty similar. Both need updates, both--sometimes--crash, both need maintaining, etc...

They are made by different companies and use different operating systems. PC computers generally use Windows for getting things done, while a Mac has a different system. Most computer programs will not work on both systems.

The PC computers are cheaper, the parts are also easily interchanges. A mac does not get viruses like the PC.

Macs, although they are more expensive, are much better computers. Mac is made by Apple, and PC is a general term for a laptop by Dell or Intel or Compaq, etc. Macs are more highly advanced and they don't get viruses they way that many PC computers do. You should buy a Mac!
