When someone is described as being egocentric, they are thought to be more apathetic than empathetic towards others, and to generally put themselves and their needs before other people. They also tend to think of the world around them from the point of view of themselves, rather than others.

Egocentric means that you are overly focused on the self and viewing the world in terms of the self. Most people have what would be called an "egocentric bias" in the way they view the world. If you don't want to be seen as egocentric, think about ways you could make your world more inclusive of others, volunteer maybe?
