A slut generally refers to a woman with loose moral standards. It means she sleeps around a lot, with many men, or has sex outside of marriage. It is not a compliment.

the word 'slut' refers to women having sexual relationships with lots of men in the same time without necessarily asking for something in return. A slut is a woman that has had at least a one night stand with every man she has ever known not caring whether the man she sleeps with is involved in a relationship or not.

Slut is a woman having many sexual partners. Unlike the male equivalent (stud) "slut" is pejorative, reflecting different perception of the same behaviour of a men or a women.
