What is the contract law about signing?

Does it have to be a certain color if ink?

Any legal document that you sign, should be done in black ink. For one it looks more professional, and for two it seals the deal. Using any other color ink, will make the document look tacky, and will probably go un-noticed. In some cases blue ink is allowed, however, be sure you looked at the directions before doing so.

The general rule is that any mark or sign of assent on a written contract will suffice as a party's binding signature.
