BUN/creatinine ratio simply means the ratio between BUN and creatinine where BUN stands for Blood Urea Nitrogen. Normal BUN/creatinine ratio is between 20:1 and 10:1. The increased ratio may show the decrease in the flow of blood to kidneys and an icreased ratio may be indicating some liver diseases.

The BUN/creatinine ratio is the ratio of the blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and the serum creatinine. The BUN in a measure of the amount of nitrogen in the blood in the form of urea. This is an indication of renal (kidney) function as urea is removed by the kidneys. Low BUN/creatinine levels may indicate normal or intrarenal diesase.
