Take a job as a painters assistant with a well established and experienced painter. preferably a small contractor or sub-contractor who can teach you not only the painting skills, but the business skills like how to bid on a job.

Get a job with an experienced painter and learn tips from a pro. There are ways of doing things to make any job go faster and better such as starting at the top and painting toward the bottom.
