Knee bone spurs can be healed by surgery alone. Without surgery, the pain can be controlled or at least attenuated with the use of anti-inflammatory and pain medications. Bone spurs also respond to frequent applications of ice to reduce the swelling surrounding the knee and rest to allow the joint to re-cooperate.
