What is the best Star Trek series for me to start with?

Go in order. Watch The Original Series, then The Next Generation, then Deep Space Nine, then Voyager, then read all of the books in that order, then read all the fanfiction online in that order. Or you could just watch the shows. :-D lol! Im a bit of a geek!

'Star Trek: The Next Generation' is the best one to watch. It has more plot than the original series and more adventure than 'Deep Space Nine'. 'The Next Generation' also has many tie ins to the other series. 'Voyager', as a stand alone series, is a close second.

The original Star Trek is necessary background to all the other series, but its special effects are very primitive and may seem hokey. My personal favorite is Deep Space Nine, but I think you need the context of the original and of Next Generation to understand it. So start with the original series, then TNG, then DS9.

Definitely start with the first series, the one with Mr. Spock. The others are good and the movies are good, but it all started with the old series. The Trouble with Tribbles is one of the funniest episodes of that series!
