Conair makes a much more affordable version called the Conair Mega Ceramic Round Boar Bristle Hair Brush that is only about $9.

The best hair brush would be the ConAir Style Pro which is heavier in weight and has further spread out bristles that resemble the higher quality brushes.

Kiehl's makes a lovely brush, very similar to the Mason Pearson. I received one as a gift a few years ago. I recommend checking one out from their store, Nordstrom or Neiman Marcus :)

The best hairbrush similar to a Mason Pearson is Brush Strokes Wooden Boar Bristle Oval Cushion Brush. It's basically the same brush but for a better price, i think a lot of people but the Mason for the product value, but you can actually find some amazing brushes for under 10$.
