dental care

Question by  elsewhen (627)

Should I floss before or after brushing?

I think most people brush first and floss second, but it seems like you should do the "rougher" process first of removing pieces of food, and then advance to the finer process of brushing... is there a definitive answer on this?

I usually floss first and then I brush to get rid of food particles and blood from flossing. I think that is the more logical approach.

I think its best to first floss because you get the large chunks of food between your teeth first and after that you clean by brushing. If you would do it otherwise you will get more remains between your teeth while brushing them and you need to floss again. The best is to floss, brush, floss.

i like the idea of floss, brush, floss. it makes sense to me, and flossing with those new slick flosses makes it really easy anyway.  add a comment

You should floss first, then brush. This how they do it when you get your teeth cleaned by a dental hygienist.

My hygenist does it in the opposite order... flossing is the last thing they do when i go to for a cleaning.  add a comment
