Best value is probably Taylor or Alvarez/Yairi. The very best fingerpicking guitars were made by the Larsen Brothers in Chicago, mostly under the trade name Maurer, but a couple of other names as well - Euphenon and Prairie State are examples. You can still find them, but they cost BIG bucks.
