Love and attention. If your dog is showing signs of depression the best solution to the problem is to spend more time with it. For most animals they just miss their owners and want to be part of your life.

Reconcile is a new antidepressant for dogs. It seems to help when with separation anxiety. Hopefully with this drug and behavior modification your dog will be more calm.

I have heard of veterinarians using a mild form of Prozac to help dogs with depression, but honestly, all you have to do is spend time with them. Take them to the park and run them around a bit. If your dog is losing hair, go to the vet.

It is often recommended to try other options before prescribing antidepressant medicine. Perhaps changing diet or exercise habits can help things before trying medicine. If you decide to go with medicine, consult your veterinarian and get their advice. One medication that has shown great success with this is elavil. It is usually available in most pharmacies.

Dogs can take the same anti deression medications as humans do, any meds as far as that goes. One med that was prescribed for my dog was an older less expenxive one called elavil it worked very well and was easy to find at any local pharmacy.

Many veterinarians choose to use a medication that is available both as a medicine for dogs and a medicine for people. This medication is Prozac. Generally, however, it can have a sedative effect on the pet that takes it, so use caution and keep an eye on your pet. Be sure to make sure your vet agrees with this treatment.

Well, the best dog antidepressant medicine can only be prescribed by doctor so get it from him. Otherwise I think it is prozac.

A dog's reaction to antidepressants is much the same as ours. Some medications work well, some don't seem to work at all (or the side effects are worse than the original issue). It can be necessary to try out more than one medication before finding the "one" for your dog.

Exercise. There are no antidepressants that are tested for use by animals and they should never be used by animals.
