For recoil operated semi-autos, nothing can beat a Browning A5, it is kind of like the shotgun world's version of a Timex. the Browning Gold is out of this world. The Remington 1100 is very similiar to the Browning Gold. If I were to recommend a semi-auto shotgun these would be the three I recommend.
