Students in Texas cannot drop out of school without parental permission until the age of 18. Until that age, the students, and sometimes the parents, are responsible for any of the penalties that are associated with truancy. These penalties include fines and even jail time for families who do not comply with the truancy laws.

For completion of graduation a kid requires 18 years of completion. Hence for any kids who want to quit before 18, a waiver has to be authenticated by the superintendent of the school district where the kid is residing.

The youngest you can leave school is 16. However, you cannot simply drop out. Several legal requirements must be satisfied before this can occur. See PHP Code: ยง 25. 086.
