What is "tan thru" clothing?

This is clothing made from a microfiber fabric that has tiny pores allowing a small amount of sunlight to penetrate the material and come into contact with the wearer's skin. It supposedly allows the wearer to get an even tan without removing clothing and cuts down on risks associated with direct, prolonged exposure to the sun.

Tan thru clothing is clothing specifically designed so that you can obtain a tan while wearing it. Examples might be t-shirts or tank tops that are intended to be worn in the sun on a nice day. You will get a tan wearing one of these shirts without having to tan shirtless.
