There is no easy way to answer this but direct sun tanning is not always safe due to the suns rays so I would just say to get a safer one you should just tan in the sun in short time periods,or just use a tanning spray.
If you consider the "tan in a bottle/fake tan" a solution then yes, there is, other wise no, most studies will find that tanning lamps as well as the sun are pretty bad for your skin even for a small tan.
Dermatologists agree tanning your skin ages your skin and there is no safe way to tan yourself. Tanning beds are included in this, they do not give a safe tan either. You could get the spray on tan which uses chemicals and looks fake but who knows if those chemicals are safe?
