What is some good advice on how to keep a 16 year old runaway at home?

You can try to be good to your 16 year old son or daughter. Love your child and make your home a loving home free from abuse, drugs and such.

You need to find out why the teenager is running away from home. Something is causing them to take the drastic step of leaving. Is here abuse at home? Is there abuse at school? Does the teenager feel things are hopeless where they are? Until you get answers on these questions you cannot solve the problem.

Have a family meeting. Ask what's going on, what does s/he need that s/he is not gtting at home. Ask what chores s/he wants to do around the house. yes! Ask what s/he wants to do with you for fun. rebuild the relationship. don't give up on him/her.
