Securilock is an anti-theft device installed in automobiles. It stops the engine from starting without an ingition key with a unique matching code. Ford Motor company is credited with developing this "immobilizer" technology back in the 1960's. It is also more commonly known as Passive Anti-Theft System (P.A.T.S). However, some critics believe that it is wrongly termed as PATS.
