Hot compressed, lots of water, possible antibiotics and medications that stimulate salivation. However, you need to make sure what the cause is, as a stone may need to be removed.

Nomral treatment is rest, hot compresses and sometimes salivary stimulating lozenges, like lemon cough drops. See you doctor to make sure it is not infected, as it may require drainage or antibiotics.

One web site suggested tart hard candy. I ignored it until I was told by someone who had just been told by her doctor to use lemon drops! They worked.

Small stones are what clog salivary glands. Sometimes you can work them out yourself, but more often you should visit your doctor to have them removed.
